My Father's Good Pleasure

My current home in SC.

I've have been very grateful for the cheap rent and the relatively safe, quiet neighborhood. However, it is VERY old, has rotting floors, holes everywhere, roaches, no insulation, and a permament odorous mixture of mildew and urine. And of course, the hot water doesn't work in the sinks.

Steven's current home is a 15 by 5 foot, cigarette smokey room in an older couple's trailer in a sketchy neighborhood in NC.

A sneak-peak of our new home. (With the current owner's decor)

Looking for a home has been quite an adventure with many twists and turns. At first we were going to rent. However, the rent prices were as high as a mortgage and in bad neighborhoods. Then God led us to look for homes for sale. The hunt was exhausting. It was so hard not to worry and doubt. I'd been asking God for something more amazing than we could imagine for a cheap price.

Steven found this place online and we realized that the mortgage would be shockingly low, I knew it was the place.
We had a dishonest realitor who among other things, led us in the wrong direction, refused to show us this house because he was not selling it. BEWARE! RELATORS are salesmen! Do your own research, pick the houses YOU want to see! Be prepared.

We left the dishonest realitor and got another realitor who was WONDERFUL, just what we asked for. The home has everything that Steven and I could ever want and more that we would not have dared to ask for.

Our beautiful home has every amenity you would desire in a home.
One very special touch is a fulfillment of my secret wish. The sun rises in the master bedroom and kitchen. *swoon*

For years Steven and I have been dreading the FRIDGE "DEBATE". Since neither of us could comprimise on this issue we feared the FRIDGE DEBATE would be our undoing as a happy couple. Well, fortunately God spared our marriage. The house comes with Steven's perfect fridge.

Other things the house has that Steven and I wanted:
New style house. Built recently
Quite neighborhood in the country on a 1 acre lot.
Fenced in. (It's mostly fenced in)
Beautiful, brick, raised landscaping/beds with plants for every season.-on the front, back AND SIDES of the house!
Magnolia trees, gardenias,(Around our deck!!) blueberry bushes, apple tree, red maple tree, crepe myrtle trees.
Privacy trees are planted around the yard already.
A wooden playground with.. a climbing wall and soft sand below!! For the foster children!
TONS OF ROOMY, WHITE CABINETS in the kitchen and baths
Lovely kitchen with beautiful arches and vaulted celings.
Lights under the cabinents
Green/grey slate backsplash
Tile in the shower/tubs
Split floor plan
Large back deck
3 bedrooms/2 baths
Open floor plan.
Vaulted ceilings
Roomy laundry room with cabinents and clothes racks.
Walk in closets
Plantation blinds in all windows
Wood floors and soft carpet
Outlets everywhere
Fire place
Tons of closet space
Lovely, arched, vaulted entryway.
2 car garage with lots of extra space for shelving, toolboxes, lawnmowers and other man stuff :)
Lots of windows and natural lighting.
The paint colors are the EXACT colors I would have chosen!
A door from the garage that leads to the outside/garden.
Great air conditioner and insulation.
Lovely woodwork throughout the home.
White rocks covering the ground below the deck so the weeds don't grow and dogs don't get ticks.
and a home security system which we don't really care about.

The most amazing thing is that we had told God that we did not want to pay any more than a certain amount for a home. The home price was listed well above the amount we had told God. We told our realitor a higher amount because we are aware that reality is booming in our military area and we didn't want to lose the house. I lay awake that night with the low number running through my head. Dare we ask for our low amount? After work the next day, Steven and I were on the way to sign the offer. He said, I've had ____ (the other number) running through my head all day. We have to ask for it. I said, "fine, we will also ask for the washer and dryer". (Ours were "stolen" from us and consequently, I've been washing clothes in the bathtub since Feb.) We also asked for closing costs and the fridge of course :).

Our offer was accepted today as we knew it would be and the realitor said we should be able to close by the end of the month; just in time because my lease on the trailor ends on the 31st.

The verses I've been living by:

Luke 12 29-32

29And seek not ye what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink, neither be ye of doubtful mind.

30For all these things do the nations of the world seek after: and your Father knoweth that ye have need of these things.

31But rather seek ye the kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added unto you.

32Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom.

33Sell that ye have, and give alms; provide yourselves bags which wax not old, a treasure in the heavens that faileth not, where no thief approacheth, neither moth corrupteth.

And to think that the enemy tried to keep this home from me by filling my head with all kinds of doubt! I was even questioning if it was right to own such a luxurious home!

Thank you God. I am so humbled by your love for us despite my doubt. I also thank you for Steven who never doubted all along.
