I applied for the job at the Asperger's school because I felt like God has put it on my heart to work with Autistic/Asperger's children. I got this job waay too easily. Then realized that I probably shouldn't take the job because it would create scheduling difficulties with my future hospital job which must have priority.
I prayed and asked God about the issue then I sent her an email informing her of the issue.
She replied:
"We would love to have you work with us anyway. We will try to accommodate your schedule and we will take it day by day."
It seems that I will be teaching after all.
I have never wanted to do take-home work so I hope it gets easier and quicker along and along. As of yet, I have not come up with teaching plans for my first lessons on Thursday.

Moving Day Is Around The Corner!
Steven is TDY to Louisiana. He's there for the jet evacuation.
He actually had to work on the flight line again.
Poor man got reminding glimpse of the vast chasm that exists between pilots and crewchiefs yet again.
It seems so wrong... How the crewchiefs are so overworked and underappriciated while the pilots seem to have attained a sort of god status.
I reminded Steven that he asked God to send him to the cushy backshop he's at now and to take this reminder of the flightline torture to be grateful for his backshop.
The man thanked me for lifting him up. I think he loves me. :)
So I'm still living in SC while he's stationed in NC.
I visited him for awhile but came down here becuase I couldn't take any more of that nasty, smokey little room he lives in.
Also, somebody had to pack!
That's right! We are finally moving!
We are closing on the beautiful house on Tuesday.
Well, Steven's closing with signature and a POA from me. *I love those free legal services on base*
While he is closing, I'll be moving our stuff up from SC. YUP! I am packing, loading, and driving a 20 foot truck with a car dolly and car up BY MYSELF!!
I'd better get some serious good wife points for that!
I asked my friend Crystal and her hubby to help but she's in nursing school now so what did I expect..:(
I advertised on FB for some help loading the truc. I'm trading my BEEEYOUTEEFUL entertainment center for help. It doesn't fit in the new house anyway. Crazy how it fit in our duplex and then in the trailer but doesn't fit in the new house!
I don't know the people who are going to help me move, but lucky for me, I noticed that they were mutual friends with a gal I know from the nursing program. SO..I stressed to Steven that they were friends of a friend from school. lol. Well they areeee...
I can't wait till that beautiful day when I have *gasp* INTERNET IN OUR HOME!
Oh yeah, and a washer and dryer will be nice too..
Have I said that before?
One more thing.
I was SUPPOSED to study for my nursing boards today... So OF COURSE, I picked up a book to read instead. Who would have thought that a book about a president's wife would make me cry my eyes out? Nancy Reagan is SUCH a lady and was SUCH a great wife.

Closet Adventures
I left something important out of my daily routine.
Devotions.
That is because life has been good.
So naturally, I'm neglecting my Bible.
Gaaah.
Not anymore.
Steven is so jovial after getting off work. Too bad his wife is such a drag that he enjoys his coworkers more. I'm glad he likes his coworkers and I'm looking forward to the day when we won't be crammed together in a closet sized room and tiny bed. The cramming and the smoke may well have been our very undoing if we were not closing on our house by the end of the month!
Steven had such a traumatic night last night. Apparently, the bed is so small that both of us must be over or under the covers.
Steven was sleeping on the end towards the fan. He froze all night because I refused to sleep under the covers.
Today is the home inspection.
I'm awfully excited to see that beautiful house again! I might steal an apple from the tree.
God has arranged for my hardworking bro and sis-in-law to be to enjoy a wedding pratically for free.
It's been amazing watching their blessings roll in.
One of the rich women she works for is paying for the catering as a gift.
An old family friend who is a lead member in a highly paid, and highly sought after violin quartet has offered their services free of charge.
The church where they attend is waiving the fee for clean up. That's about 400 dollars.
Chasity found her dream wedding dress at a thrift shop for about 45 dollars.
Their all-around fantastic sister Tricia, and their stunningly handsome and smart brother-in-law Steven, will be getting them a nice gift. :D

Smoke House Avoidance Plan
And so our goals have become: 1. Avoiding the smokey house. 2. Me finding a job.
Here's a run down of my typical day.
Wake up grudgingly at 6 am.
Fix breakfast and lunch for my husband and I.
-NOt an easy task since our food is limited and crammed in crevices of our tiny room and fridge.
Drive my husband to work as one of our cars is in SC.
Drink my coffee
-coffee is dried instant for convience in this awkward lifestyle.
Drive back to the trailer park.
Take my clothes out of the car and rush them quickly in the room.
-Must avoid being polluted by smoke smell. I can't do anything but my hair.
Exercise, do note cards for nclex.
Shower and change into my good clothes in the gym or in the bx bathroom.
Buy new clothes from BX if job interview clothes end up smelling like smoke.
Change in the Bx bathroom.
Head to preferred place of future employment.
Complete necessary tasks.
Come back to base.
Eat lunch in the car.
-darn it. I don't have silverware.. Oh well.
Mess around in the library and try to study until 3:30
Pick husband up at 3:30
Go to appointments with realitor, shopping etc..
-trying to put off return to smoke house of doom until last possible moment.
Go back to smoke house of doom.
Make small talk as small as possible as kind older couple puff away on said smokes.
Back out of room whilst still talking.
Shower.
Contemplate smoke house avoidance plan for the next day.

My Father's Good Pleasure
My current home in SC.

I've have been very grateful for the cheap rent and the relatively safe, quiet neighborhood. However, it is VERY old, has rotting floors, holes everywhere, roaches, no insulation, and a permament odorous mixture of mildew and urine. And of course, the hot water doesn't work in the sinks.
Steven's current home is a 15 by 5 foot, cigarette smokey room in an older couple's trailer in a sketchy neighborhood in NC.
A sneak-peak of our new home. (With the current owner's decor)

Looking for a home has been quite an adventure with many twists and turns. At first we were going to rent. However, the rent prices were as high as a mortgage and in bad neighborhoods. Then God led us to look for homes for sale. The hunt was exhausting. It was so hard not to worry and doubt. I'd been asking God for something more amazing than we could imagine for a cheap price.
Steven found this place online and we realized that the mortgage would be shockingly low, I knew it was the place.
We had a dishonest realitor who among other things, led us in the wrong direction, refused to show us this house because he was not selling it. BEWARE! RELATORS are salesmen! Do your own research, pick the houses YOU want to see! Be prepared.
We left the dishonest realitor and got another realitor who was WONDERFUL, just what we asked for. The home has everything that Steven and I could ever want and more that we would not have dared to ask for.
Our beautiful home has every amenity you would desire in a home.
One very special touch is a fulfillment of my secret wish. The sun rises in the master bedroom and kitchen. *swoon*
For years Steven and I have been dreading the FRIDGE "DEBATE". Since neither of us could comprimise on this issue we feared the FRIDGE DEBATE would be our undoing as a happy couple. Well, fortunately God spared our marriage. The house comes with Steven's perfect fridge.
Other things the house has that Steven and I wanted:
New style house. Built recently
Quite neighborhood in the country on a 1 acre lot.
Fenced in. (It's mostly fenced in)
Beautiful, brick, raised landscaping/beds with plants for every season.-on the front, back AND SIDES of the house!
Magnolia trees, gardenias,(Around our deck!!) blueberry bushes, apple tree, red maple tree, crepe myrtle trees.
Privacy trees are planted around the yard already.
A wooden playground with.. a climbing wall and soft sand below!! For the foster children!
TONS OF ROOMY, WHITE CABINETS in the kitchen and baths
Lovely kitchen with beautiful arches and vaulted celings.
Lights under the cabinents
Green/grey slate backsplash
Tile in the shower/tubs
Split floor plan
Large back deck
3 bedrooms/2 baths
Open floor plan.
Vaulted ceilings
Roomy laundry room with cabinents and clothes racks.
Walk in closets
Plantation blinds in all windows
Wood floors and soft carpet
Outlets everywhere
Fire place
Tons of closet space
Lovely, arched, vaulted entryway.
2 car garage with lots of extra space for shelving, toolboxes, lawnmowers and other man stuff :)
Lots of windows and natural lighting.
The paint colors are the EXACT colors I would have chosen!
A door from the garage that leads to the outside/garden.
Great air conditioner and insulation.
Lovely woodwork throughout the home.
White rocks covering the ground below the deck so the weeds don't grow and dogs don't get ticks.
and a home security system which we don't really care about.
The most amazing thing is that we had told God that we did not want to pay any more than a certain amount for a home. The home price was listed well above the amount we had told God. We told our realitor a higher amount because we are aware that reality is booming in our military area and we didn't want to lose the house. I lay awake that night with the low number running through my head. Dare we ask for our low amount? After work the next day, Steven and I were on the way to sign the offer. He said, I've had ____ (the other number) running through my head all day. We have to ask for it. I said, "fine, we will also ask for the washer and dryer". (Ours were "stolen" from us and consequently, I've been washing clothes in the bathtub since Feb.) We also asked for closing costs and the fridge of course :).
Our offer was accepted today as we knew it would be and the realitor said we should be able to close by the end of the month; just in time because my lease on the trailor ends on the 31st.
The verses I've been living by:
Luke 12 29-32
29And seek not ye what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink, neither be ye of doubtful mind.
30For all these things do the nations of the world seek after: and your Father knoweth that ye have need of these things.
31But rather seek ye the kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added unto you.
32Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom.
33Sell that ye have, and give alms; provide yourselves bags which wax not old, a treasure in the heavens that faileth not, where no thief approacheth, neither moth corrupteth.
And to think that the enemy tried to keep this home from me by filling my head with all kinds of doubt! I was even questioning if it was right to own such a luxurious home!
Thank you God. I am so humbled by your love for us despite my doubt. I also thank you for Steven who never doubted all along.

Changes Happening
So many things are happening all at once.
I graduated nursing school August 5th! All Glory to God!
I am typing mostly because I am SUPPOSED to be studying for my national nursing licensure exam... and yeah.. you know how that goes.

I am moving to North Carolina, currently living in South Carolina. Steven has lived in NC since April.
I had to leave the most wonderful church. Bethesda Church of God is a wonderful place. The first time I walked in the door I felt the Holy Spirit through the love of the people around me. I never knew one could be so loved by strangers. I attended services mostly by myself as Steven was in Korea. The people, mostly ladies older than I,(for which I am thankful at my last church it was the men who cared most for me..) bombarded me with affection, encouragement, and sound advice.
I cried leaving that church.
Many of the people there are praying with us that we will find a good church here. I am confident that we will find it quickly.
Currently, our things are still in SC. We have a place to stay here, but not a place to LIVE. We stay in a tiny room, in a trailer, in a park with sketchy neighbors. The old couple we stay with are very nice, but of course, it is not our place and they smoke indoors. This town has a shortage of rental property so are thankful for our room but we asked God for a cheap place to buy which is more wonderful than we could imagine. We have gone to a couple of realitors, and have not yet found the "one" although, we do have our eye on one place which we hope to look at today.
Yesterday evening we visited a church, it was fellowship night and they loaded us with donuts and pizza. Sounds like a great place aready doesn't it? :) After my donut and pizza I felt the need to move about before falling to sleep and wanted to go for a walk. -My clothing has been a bit snug since My mother in law came up for my graduation. Of course, I had to cook and eat too much delicious food while she was here. On top of the delicious food, the ladies from my prayer group sent me away with a decadant, buttery pound cake!!
Now about the walk I didn't get to take: According to Steven our neighborhood boasts the following dangers: trailers (of course), non-english speaking people who scowl; 15 large teenage boys with bad language who 'hang-out' on the corner; a fenced house with a rebel flag prominently displayed in the front yard, 5 gigantic rottweilers in the yard and 5 stone rottweilers outside the gate as well as 2 larger gargoyls and an assortment of smaller dog statues. Other dangers include small, pacificer age children playing in the yards/street with no adult supervision and loud music.
I told Steven that I felt like a caged bird in our tiny room and he informed me that in order for me to leave the inner walls of our current residence, I must have armed guards, secure perimeters, security patrols, dog teams, and constant arial security. In other words, if I desire exercise I must quickly and directly to my car, lock the doors, and drive to the military base.
Now for some positive tid-bits.
You may notice that I am wearing a dress in my pinning ceremony pictures. It was a little gift from God. It has always been my dream to wear the traditional white dress. I searched high and low and could not find one. The day before the ceremony I was offered one by a classmate!!
One of the ladies from my prayer group attended the ceremony and reported that I had a special presence that set me apart from all of the students on stage. I suggested that this was because I was cheesing so hard :) but she insisted that was not the case. If perhaps I had a special presence it could have been due to the fact that I was praising God the entire time I was up there. Far better students than I were booted from the nursing program. God got me through.
My toughest instructor told me that she and "all the instructors are in a agreement that I will be a wonderful nurse."
I suppose I will study now so that I can be a 'real' nurse.

World's Best Breakfast
This is the most fabulous breakfast you will EVER eat. Even my husband loves it... and hey, as far as breakfasts go, it's practically calorie free. Because of my garden, it only cost me pennies to make.
Here is what you need:

Various veggies and herbs. I chose a squash, and half of a bell pepper. Also, I think that is oregano. I also LOVE to use cilantro and avacodo or pesto . BUT I have to BUY (oh horror of horrors) the cilantro and the pine nuts to make the pesto..and that requires going to the store.
When I must do so, I find myself greatly resenting it. So yes, I do not eat it with cilantro/avacado or pesto as often.
(Hey, living out of the garden gives me more money for cute shoes! woot-woot!!)
I added a tomato but he was an afterthought and missed the photo op.
Here is the deliciousness muddling in the pan:

Hrmm. For the calorie conters;
egg-78
squash-18
bell pepper-5
olive oil-39
tomato-4
Cheese-69(supposing that is a cubic inch)
and I'm not psycho enough to count the calories in those oregano leaves!
That is a grand total of 214 calories! AND it is FILLING and delicious!!
I do NOT count calories this obsessivly!!!
But... maybe I should so I could quit complaining about muh belly!
If I were cooking this for my husband I would add some sliced lunch meat, more veggies, another egg. This is one of his favorite breakfasts.
Time to eat!

Everyone get a good laugh at my attempt to be fancy and lets move on.
FANCY is not an adjective you can use to describe this gal.
I used to have a cup that matched that plate but I threw it away for the good of my husband to make room for some dishes that he wanted to keep.
I love my husband but i still regret throwing away that cup :(
Oh, here is the best website for calorie counting: http://www.calorieking.com/
All this talk about calorie counting lately has got me thinking I should start.
Think you will try this? What is YOUR favorite 'skinny' breakfast?

Truth

John 14:17
The Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you.
God is truth and it is revealed to us in the Bible. We must seek him for truth, for answers. This world, people's advice, and our emotions are flawed.
"You shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free".
Here is one truth we should always remember.
We can find freedom in knowing that we were created by a loving heavenly Father who knows what is best for us.
Even in the tough times. He allowed them into my life to teach me a lesson.
Even my mistakes that brought consequences, he can turn around for the good.
When I am in a valley I will remember to ask, "What do you want me to learn from this?"
"How can this situation grow help me to grow?"
2 Samuel 2:6
And now the LORD shew kindness and truth unto you...
For:
Psalm 91:4
He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.
What types of things does the truth set YOU free from?

Post inspired by my Mother
My devotions today

Isaiah 55
Come all you who are thirsty, come to the waters; and you who have no money, come, buy and eat!
Come, buy wine and milk without money and without cost.
Why spend money on what is not bread, and your labor on what does not satisfy?
Listen, listen to me and eat what is good, and your soul will delight in the richest of fare.
Give ear and come to me; hear me that your soul may live. ...
...
Seek the Lord while he may be found; call on him while he is near. Let the wicked forsake his way and the evil man his thoughts.
Let him turn to the Lord, and he will have MERCY on him, and to our God, for he will freely pardon.
For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are our ways my ways, "
Lord, help me to remember what truly matters and to seek those things each day. Help me to turn from my evil thoughts and actions and live by my new identity which is in you.
2 Timothy 1:7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, of love, and of a sound mind. ...
Help me, remind me to grasp the sound mind that you have given me, and to rebuke the fearful, troubling thoughts that could discourage me from my walk with you.
LORD, I accept your freely given pardon. Help me not to doubt. Because by doubting, I am calling you a liar!
Help me this day to walk in my new identity, which is a child of the Most High King, Lord of the universe.
I am a cracked pot Lord. Mold me and make me into the beautiful, perfect vessel that you want me to be. My mind has been twisted and distorted by things of this word, breath on me, form me into what you created me to be.
Your desires for me are much higher than where I am at. I thank you for revealing the thing that is holding from growing, my reluctance to read the Bible daily, my fascination with things of this world that do not honor you, and my indulgence of FEARFUL, DOUBTFUL, DISCOURAGING thoughts that are not from you, but from Satan who wishes to keep me in a state of defeat.
I love you LORD. Help me to love you with my WHOLE heart. Most high God, creator of everything. Apart from you there is nothing, no beauty, no goodness, no lasting joy. Thank you for the gift of your son and the assurance of salvation.
Praise God!

10 Minutes With Anyone

Q: If you had ten minutes alone with anyone in the world, past or present, who would you choose?
I would talk to Paul. As the greatest missionary that ever lived, he is my spiritual Hero. I would also talk to Enoch because I want to know about his experience of 'walking with God'.
I am so thankful that as a child my parents raised me to look to Christian leaders and missionaries; real people who did real things; as my heros instead of sports stars or celebrities. That is one of the greatest gifts they gave me.
Corrie Ten Boom, David Livingston, and Florence NIghtengale are also heros of mine. Oh, and Sojurner Truth and Clara Barton :) Those are just the ones I can remember off the top of my head. Does that tell you anything about me?
Who is your spiritual hero, living or dead?
What character from the Bible do you look up to or identify with?
Who is your hero of the moment?
My hero of the moment is my neighbor's Daddy who is mowing our grass!!! Yeah Yeah!

Word Vomit and Living Above

I praise God because he is creating in me a spirit that HATES what is evil.
I used to try to live by that verse, whatsoever is lovely, pure, of good report... etc..
but now I find myself LOVING those things naturally, and HATING what is not good, lovely, pure, of good report.
Gossip used to be a tasty morsel. I used to love to know bad things about people. Now I cringe when I hear something negative. I don't want my image of somebody to be ruined in that way.
For example, an acquantance of mine recently told me of a couple who was having serious marital problems.
Instead of relishing this tasty morsel, I was horrified to learn such a thing. Why would I want to know that!
I'm going to have to limit my communication with this friend because she is a constant outflow such vomit.
I thought I would NEVER get to this point. Yes, I still get tempted to talk about somebody... and I still let things slip. But now that I have a hatred for it, it's so much easier to avoid! Praise God!
With the Holy Spirit guiding my thoughts, there is another level of joy that I experience. A joy that is not impeded by the negative information and attitudes around me.
MY first step to acquiring this joy? Turn off the TV. :)
Seriously, After a couple of weeks of not watching TV, I flipped it on, and could not believe the amount of negativity I was subjecting myself to. It's so much easier to enjoy life, our family, God's creation when not constantly subjected to all that negativity.
Praise God!
Leave me some comments!
Do you consciously try to filter what you allow in your mind?
Thoughts? Advice? Stratigies?
Journal Theme?
I was going to make this a military wife blog, but quickly realized that would be a ridiculous endeavor. I don't give a flying poo about the military. I do not readily claim the title of "military wife". I'm just a wife.Above that, I'm a child of God.
So that will be the theme of this journal.
I have another journal: http://auroradreams23.livejournal.com/, where I have ranted faithfully since the tender age of 17. Unfortunately, Blogspot has become more popular, so here I am. (Baaahhh, Baaaahhh :)
It will be nice to have access to the posts of family and friends!
Now that I have gone to all the work to create this blog, It sure would be nice to know how to do a search for my loved ones on here! Help me somebody! How do you find folks?

What makes me a different sort of wife?
To understand why I am not the average military wife, you would have to have a good picture of a military wife to compare me to. As you can imagine 'Army Wives', while an entertaining show, is not a true to life depiction of a military wife!
I have many things in common with the average military wife. I share their homesickness, the lonely nights, but not the intense pride for my husband's chosen career. My pride is in my husband and not his career. My husband has the absolute worst job in the Air Force. Furthermore, having been enlisted myself, I have seen the best and the worst of the military and I don't glamorize the military life.
I hope that these sentiments, along with my faith in God, love and faithfulness to my husband, and believe in the genuine good will of my fellow military wives, can give me the objectivity to expound upon topics with a positive and compassionate attitude.
I'm afraid I've painted a dreary picture so far! I'm a very positive person over-all but due to the difficulties of my husband's job, I've never been able to cast the military in the positive light it deserves!
What difficulties? I won't bore you with those. Positivity! That's what this journal is about!
